New Years, where friends herald old man time,
To reflect on the term’s triumphs and laments…

To celebrate to Auld Lang Syne,
Tipping our hats in recompense…

So when an invitation comes and we choose to abend,
For we find that our burdens were too much to share…

Just remember, it’s not for you, why you must attend,
It’s for your friends, the real reason for the New Years affair…
