We could all use a hand on the shoulder right now, considering the tragic death of one of the most prolific talents seen from the Entertainment industry thus far, Robin Williams. From his Oscar-winning performance in Good Will Hunting, to his career changing role in Good Morning, Vietnam. From his side-splitting voice acting in Aladdin to his tear-inducing turn in Dead Poets Society. Most of those who had the pleasure to work with him, said that the most iconic dialogue came not from the script, but from Robin himself riffing during his performance.
We here at Wasabi Roll bow our heads to a man who touched the world with his wit, character, and charm. His passing will make the world poorer for it...
Mrs Doubtfire
Mrs. Doubtfire: Oh I'm sorry, am I being a little graphic? I'm sorry. Well, I hope you're up for a little competition. She's got a power tool in the bedroom, dear. It's her own personal jackhammer. She could break sidewalk with that thing. She uses it and the lights dim, it's like a prison movie. Amazed she hasn't chipped her teeth.Dead Poets Society
“They're not that different from you, are they? Same haircuts. Full of hormones, just like you. Invincible, just like you feel. The world is their oyster. They believe they're destined for great things, just like many of you, their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make from their lives even one iota of what they were capable? Because, you see gentlemen, these boys are now fertilizing daffodils. But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? - Carpe - hear it? - Carpe, carpe diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary.”
"You treat a disease, you win, you lose. You treat a person, I guarantee you, you'll win, no matter what the outcome.”
Aladdin
"Thank you for choosing "Magic Carpet" for all your travel needs. Don't stand until the rug has come to a complete stop. Thank you. Goodbye, now. Goodbye. Goodbye. Thank you. Goodbye."Hook
“You’re a complex Freudian hallucination having something to do with my mother and I don’t know why you have wings, but you have very lovely legs and you’re a very nice tiny person and what am I saying. I don’t know who my mother was. I’m an orphan and I’ve never taken drugs because I missed the sixties - I was an accountant.
Good Morning Vietnam
“Goooooood morning, Vietnam! It’s 0600 hours. What does the ‘O’ stand for? O my God, it’s early!
"You know, you're very beautiful. You're also very quiet. And I'm not used to girls being that quiet unless they're medicated. Normally I go out with girls who talk so much you could hook them up to a wind turbine and they could power a small New Hampshire town."
The World According to Garp
Walt: Daddy what's gradual school?
T. S. Garp: What?
Walt: Gradual school. Mommy say's she teaches at gradual school.
T. S. Garp: Oh Gradual school is where you go to school and you gradually find out you don't want to go to school anymore.
Night at the Museum
Teddy Roosevelt: Anything's possible Lawrence. If it can be dreamed, it can be done. Hence the twenty-foot jackal staring right at you.
[Larry starts to look]
Teddy Roosevelt: Don't make eye contact!
Jumanji
“I've seen things you've only seen in your nightmares. Things you can't even imagine. Things you can't even see. There are things that hunt you in the night. Then something screams. Then you hear them eat, and you hope to God that you're not dessert. Afraid? You don't even know what afraid is.”
Good Will Hunting
“You don’t know about real loss because it only occurs when you’ve loved something more than you love yourself. I doubt you've ever dared to love anybody that much.”
“You’re not perfect, sport, and let me save you the suspense: this girl you've met, she’s not perfect either. But the question is whether or not you’re perfect for each other.”
The Fisher King
“There’s three things in this world that you need: Respect for all kinds of life, a nice bowel movement on a regular basis, and a navy blazer.”
Mork & Mindy
"He stole your necklace, he stole your ribs, he’s obviously not kosher"
"What she's trying to say is, Exidor, we've had a change of heart, you know like when Annie Richards wanted to change dressing rooms."
And the Best for last...
Jack
“Please, don't worry so much. Because in the end, none of us have very long on this Earth. Life is fleeting. And if you're ever distressed, cast your eyes to the summer sky when the stars are strung across the velvety night. And when a shooting star streaks through the blackness, turning night into day, make a wish and think of me. Make your life spectacular.”
